The insularity of São Miguel is now forgotten. Many charter airlines now operate direct connections between Europeean cities and the Ponta Delgada airport during the high season, from April to October. There are also daily regular flights connecting Lisbon to Ponta Delgada operated by SATA AIR ACORES and TAP Portugal.

Airport

The Ponta Delgada airport serves the São Miguel island. All necessary information is available on the airport website.

Car or bus

Travelling within the island is possible by bus, but the trips are long and tiring. It is therefore recommended to rent a car or a motorcycle in order to discover São Miguel in the best conditions.
